I am hosting this website to help prospective migrants and those investigating employment in Australia and/or investment in Australia to find their way more easily. I am not an immigration agent nor am I a business broker, lawyer, relocation agent, financial planner or financier. I am not looking to make money out of this web site.

My aim is to bring a better perspective to migrants so that they may have a better experience than many others who have tried and failed, and so that they may become a productive part of the Australian society much sooner.

I hope to bring you important and interesting information – the type of things that you may need as you go through the migration or investment processes.

Successfully move to Australia

My family and I migrated to Australia in 2007. Through this website I have helped many people along their way, and I am happy with that effort. I run this web site primarily because I am interested in your welfare and because I have seen too many migrants come up short on the back of having under estimated what it takes to immigrate to Australia.

Should you so wish, I may, however, refer you to any of the above agents or businesses, and I may be compensated for the referral. But I have no referral agreements with any party whatsoever, and, again, I do not not host this web site to make money out of it. What you will find here is my own opinion and the opinions of others. I encourage you to get a wide range of perspectives and to obtain professional advice where relevant.

In the interest of full disclosure I also own and manage a boutique management consultancy firm called Quasar Advisory Services Pty. Ltd. which focusses on helping prospective business owners coming to Australia or already running businesses here.

My naam is Gerhard en ek praat graag Afrikaans. Vir mense van Afrikaanse oorsprong is daar heelwat om te leer. Dis die moeite werd om goed voor te berei vir 'n nuwe lewe in Australië.

Giving up your career and family life to come and live in Australia and then failing to settle in quickly can spell disaster. Many South African migrants have opted to "go back". They have not only lost much of their personal wealth but also relationships, careers and perhaps their reputation.

If you have the wrong idea about how things work in Australia you are unlikely to be successful in settling in quickly whilst bringing upon yourself much headache and stress. Moreover, this country (Australia) and its people may earn itself a poor reputation on the back of migrants' poor planning, unrealistic expectations and misguided enthusiasm. We wish to help avoid such frustrations and waste of money.

Gateway to Australia

I do not claim to be the custodian of a fool proof process or advice, nor do I claim that the service providers I may introduce you to are perfect in every way. But what I can guarantee is that my service providers are above board. In an industry where you often find yourself conversing over a long distances with people whom you know virtually nothing about, there is little doubt that working with parties that are above board is a worthwhile thing to do.

Life in Australia is really good and it can be quite easy as well. But, do not underestimate the changes that may have to take place in your life as you move from one country to the next. Also, do not underestimate the need for pro-active professional advice where relevant.
